Introduction
Thank you for considering Playtime Academy In-Home Daycare for your child(ren). Providing quality care and creating a “home-like” environment is my top priority. I believe every child is special and unique, learning best through hands-on play and discovery. In my home, your child will receive attentive supervision, loving care, and a variety of stimulating activities. I aim to offer a safe place where your child can learn, play, and grow.
I believe children thrive with routines and boundaries, hence I provide a semi-structured environment. Your child will enjoy creative and independent play, daily routines that include singing, playing instruments, crafting, mealtimes, quiet time, and outdoor play. TV time is limited, with special exceptions for movie days. I encourage parents to share their expectations and feedback, as open communication is crucial for a strong parent-provider relationship, which is ultimately in the best interest of your child.
About Playtime Academy
I am registered with the state of Iowa as a Category B home daycare. I am licensed to care for up to 12 children:
- Full-time slots: Up to 6 children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. No more than 4 can be under 24 months, with no more than 3 under 18 months.
- Part-time slots: Up to 2 children for no more than 180 hours per month.
- School-age slots: Up to 4 children for 2 hours or less daily.
When more than 8 children are present for over 2 hours, a DHS-approved assistant will be on site.
Assistance
I provide help with understanding and completing forms, including translations, reading, and writing assistance if needed.
Interview and 2 Week Trial Period
I strongly recommend at least one meeting with you and your child(ren) before starting care. This visit helps us get acquainted and allows children to familiarize themselves with the environment. If you decide to enroll your child, we will have a paid 2-week trial period. At the end of this period, we will discuss your child’s experience. If either party feels this isn’t the right fit, you may choose another care option without further commitment. Open communication is essential for a successful partnership.
